This project consists of two office spaces for Mr. and Mrs. Jones, both writers, located behind their residential property in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. Primarily serving as individual writing spaces and meeting rooms, the office overlooks its expansive backyard, bordered by a greenbelt and a small lake. The concept behind the structure is to allow the roof to be an extension of the ground. The interior maintains privacy through a soft separation while balancing cohabitable work areas through symmetry of form. This allows the couple to share each other’s company and spend time with their kids in the intermediary space, while still being able to retreat to their private offices.
