Permanence is a nuisance. People want redos because they don’t want to make mistakes. However, making a permanent decision is bold, and making mistakes can be fun. We wanted to make people's decisions final, and let them have fun doing so.

Problem:

Sharpie makes big bold permanent marks. Some people find that inconvenient compared to Sharpie's counterparts like pencils. 

Strategy: 

In this day and age permanence is almost a nuisance. People want redos because they don’t want to make mistakes. However, being bold and decisive are challenges that many love to take on. We wanted to use permanence to make peoples' decisions final, and let them have fun doing so.

Solution:

Sharpie will use a variety of games and tests but giving only one chance to solve them.

Transit riders will be able to directly interact with the subway ads by completing to the challenges directly on the screens or they can scan the QR code to play the game in the subway cars as shown below. After completing the challenges they can post their scores to social and challenge their friends to play.
