Hey! My name is Alen Jacob. I'm a Freelance Art Director/Designer based out of Austin, Tx (currently remote). I started my career as a photographer where my skill set behind a camera and my eye for composition, balance, and detail led me to design and art direction.
MY CAREER SO FAR ____________________
I started as a freelancer working with local start-ups in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This experience gave me a crash course in the value of personalizing a message for smaller audiences and then planning to scale as these different companies grew. I learned the principles of building a strong foundation behind branding that can grow and change as necessary. I also gained technical skills in design, photography, videography, and animation. This experience became invaluable as I moved to NY and worked as an intern at OceanX as a Social Media Designer. I put my skills to good use scaling the company's social media pages and building out identity systems for multiple content series.
By the summer of 2019, I joined Peloton as a Design Intern. I got the opportunity to progress from being an intern to a freelance junior designer to a full-time designer while getting a chance to be part of the global growth of the brand. I partnered with copywriters and art-directed/designed assets for content releases. I help brand different sub-groups and internal comms within Peloton. I developed storyboards and partnered with animators and editors for launch videos. At Peloton, I got the chance to use the culmination of my experiences on a variety of projects to hone my craft and become better creative overall.
I am currently working as a Freelance Art Director/Designer based out of Austin, TX. I have experience working with different brands to create branding assets, social media content, and content-based marketing collateral, as well as developing art direction for campaigns. With my experience working with start-ups, and my design experience, I know I can be a valuable asset to your team and/or project.
I am currently taking on contract and part-time roles which are remote, otherwise local to the Austin, TX area.
